Breakfast or Not
The great debate! To eat breakfast or skip it? For many years we’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A new study recently reported some conflicting findings between breakfast eaters and weight loss. Keep in mind this is ONE study, and there are a host of benefits to making that morning meal full of quality fuel including: *boosting metabolism *controlling hunger hormones *improving cognition *boosting energy Further, its been my experience that when you are hungry for breakfast, and eat within 60-90 minutes of waking, it is a good indication that you are not overeating at night time which is when most of the damage is done to our diets. The take away message: Keep your morning fuel healthy with fresh fruits, whole grains like oats, and quality protein, and heart healthy fats!
